Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Innovation Team Lead to join our Technology Commissioning & Implementation Group - Mechanical division.

As Team Lead, you spearhead innovative projects, drive technological advancements, and lead a team of talented engineers. You are part of a 3rd line support system.

At Fugro, our technology is essential to gather accurate Geo-data our clients expect from us. You work on the mechanical aspects of equipment that operate in extreme conditions, such as large water depths and harsh environments. The products vary from geotechnical measuring instruments to fully independent underwater robots.

You are pivotal in shaping the future of our mechanical engineering solutions and ensuring our competitive edge in the industry.

Your role

You lead the mechanical innovation support team, fostering creativity and collaboration;

You provide technical guidance for technology development, testing and implementation, and support of systems or equipment;

Offer conceptual input in technical discussions and align with business objectives;

Mentor and develop team members;

Document and demonstrate solutions using Fugro’s standard tools;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product managers to integrate and support new and existing technologies.

Your track record

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering;

You have relevant experience and soft skills to lead a technical team;

At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a design engineer / constructor;

Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, preferably Creo (Pro-Engineer) & Windchill PLM;

Self-driven attitude with a practical mindset and an appetite for learning new skills;

Fluent command of the English language;

Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset;

Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations;

Familiarity with Geotechnical equipment is an advantage;

Willing to travel on board vessels on an occasional basis.
