Service Technician Energy

Your responsibilities

In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in the energy supply of public transportation in a major city. You make sure that trams and metros run safely and without disruptions. You’ll work on various energy supply systems, including high voltage, low voltage, and traction systems (DC voltage), and operate across multiple locations—from the bustling city center to along metro lines.

Your tasks include :

  • Maintaining, inspecting, and repairing overhead lines and the metro’s third rail.
  • Replacing and renewing rectifier substations in collaboration with construction teams and external contractors.
  • Performing switching and repair work, identifying faults and solving them proactively.
  • Working on large-scale projects such as voltage upgrades and energy networks for new metro lines.
  • Working with switching plans, conducting measurements, and compiling accurate reports.
  • Working in a rotating schedule : two weeks of day shifts followed by one week of night shifts.

Our requirements

  • MBO level 4 diploma in electrical or energy engineering.
  • Relevant experience with electrical installations, preferably in rail infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative skills.
  • A valid category B driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work shifts and be on standby for breakdowns.
  • No fear of heights.
  • Stress-resistant, accurate, and solution-oriented.
  • Proactive and responsible.

  • Gross monthly salary between €3,066 and €4,307 (scale 8), depending on experience.

  • About the team

    You will join a dedicated team of about 15 energy technicians within a public transport infrastructure company. Together, you are responsible for maintaining and improving the energy supply for trams and metros. Each week kicks off with a team meeting (with snacks!), and there are regular team outings—such as escape rooms or other fun activities.
