We are supporting one of our clients in the offshore energy sector in the search for a Technical Superintendent. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the technical readiness and operational efficiency of subsea support vessels. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, experience with vessel mobilization / demobilization, and a proactive, practical approach to vessel maintenance and support.
Function description
The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the technical condition and performance of assigned vessels. This includes managing mobilization and demobilization activities, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external contractors, and occasional travel to support vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Mobilization & Demobilization
- Lead and coordinate vessel mobilization and demobilization activities, primarily in IJmuiden
- Collaborate with project teams, offshore crew, and logistics to ensure efficient vessel setup
- Supervise loading, securing, and testing of deck equipment and subsea systems
- Ensure all HSE and quality standards are met during operations
- Be present on-site during mobilization / demobilization (approx. 2–3 days / month)
Technical Maintenance & Vessel Support
Monitor and manage the technical condition of vessels, including propulsion, power systems, and deck equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues with engineers and service providersCoordinate planned and unplanned maintenance with minimal disruptionMaintain vessel documentation and ensure compliance with class, flag, and internal standardsConduct inspections and provide hands-on technical supportPlanning & Reporting
Support annual maintenance planning and dry dock preparationKeep detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and technical issuesReport regularly to senior technical management on vessel status and improvementsAdditional Information
Participate in equipment evaluations and upgrade projectsWork closely with Procurement, QHSE, and Engineering teamsLocation : Dordrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid – up to 1 day / week WFH)Travel offshore or to other shipyards when needed (company pool car available)Requirements
