Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Location : Utrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid)

Type : Full-time – Must be residing in the Netherlands

Do you thrive at the intersection of modern infrastructure, cloud architecture, and engineering operations? We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer who can take ownership of infrastructure strategy and delivery across diverse projects, guiding our teams toward scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that drive real-world impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will lead infrastructure design and architecture across internal and client-facing systems. From the initial project scoping to deployment and scaling, you will :

  • Define and implement infrastructure as code practices using tools such as Terraform
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud platforms including Azure, Google Cloud Platform and AWS
  • Oversee platform operations, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and cost-efficient
  • Improve and standardize CI / CD workflows using GitHub Actions and GitLab CI
  • Influence DevSecOps maturity, embedding secure by design practices into everything we deploy
  • Contribute to observability solutions such as OpenTelemetry, Sentry or Honeycomb
  • Take part in incident response coordination and platform reliability improvements
  • Document key processes and contribute to internal shared tooling and best practices

What You Bring

We are searching for someone with both hands-on expertise and a strategic mindset, someone who leads by doing and can support others across disciplines. Your experience likely includes :

  • Solid background working with cloud infrastructure across Azure, GCP or AWS
  • Proficiency with Terraform, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering approaches
  • Experience setting up and managing CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab or similar tools
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security including IAM, encryption, networking and compliance frameworks
  • Competence in Linux environments and comfort with scripting such as Bash or Python
  • Familiarity with observability stacks and performance monitoring tools
