For one of our clients we are looking for an Internal Controls Specialist who will be supporting the Netherlands entities structure on internal processes / controls, risk management and SAP GRC.

The Internal Controls Specialist will work in optimal collaboration with all local finance teams, IT dept and various other support teams.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Maintain the local internal control framework, based on Group Management System Guidelines (incl SOA) as well as general best practice.
  • Support all Finance teams to adhere to the Group’s Management System Guidelines.
  • Maintain the internal controls automated confirmation tool.
  • Advise upon procedures, processes, delegation of authorities and risk management in the broadest sense.
  • Management of the SAP GRC framework including periodic risk evaluations, assignment of mitigation controls and user reviews.
  • Coordinate periodic Country Risk evaluations by Group.
  • Coordinate and maintain the local risk management framework with all relevant departments.
  • Involvement in any other accounting and reporting related projects on an ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure good interface and information is adequately shared with other stakeholders within the Group.

  • All local finance teams.
  • Group finance and control teams.
  • Other functions (incl. Technical and Support functions).
  • Internal as well as external auditors.

    • Required competences / Qualifications / Experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a Finance related discipline or certified public accountant.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar financial position, preferably Big Four and / or E&P company.
  • A solid grasp of general financial topics and functions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal (English).
  • Well organized with an aptitude for data.
  • Solid networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing small to medium size projects.
  • Demonstrate problem solving abilities, including identifying critical issues and problem resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities and projects, while producing accurate and thorough work.
  • Language : English and Dutch required
