About the job
Essential qualifications include experience in the Cleaning Goods and / or Personal Care sectors, with a preference for familiarity in the Specialty Chemicals industry, all within a Business-to-Business environment.
The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the regional marketing plans to achieve revenue, pipeline and gross margin objectives. This role is responsible for leading marketing initiatives in the region including new product introductions, services, pricing, and promotional initiatives for sales in the allocated region. Drives the creation of value for the BL and contributes to realization of global business strategy.
In your future role as Regional Marketing Manager, you will :
- Develop a regional marketing plan for each market segment to deliver the segment / product line strategy
- Keep up to date with market trends, competition, dynamics and maintain industry contacts
- Drive the quarterly pricing guidance process (including market floors and target prices) for the sales team and manage exemption requests
- Identify new customer needs and provide input for new product development- Develop and execute regional launch plan for new products
- In collaboration with the technical service and global marketing team, refine value propositions for key products for each market segment and develop selling tools
- Build, maintain and leverage key external relationships across the region
- Define regional communication and branding needs and collaborate with marketing communications team to drive execution
- Active member of the Global Marketing team supports the Strategic Global Marketing Manager for the relevant segments- Leverage opportunities, trends, marketing tools across regions
- Drive channel management, including distribution strategy / excellence / performance tracking and ensure execution thereof together with Sales Leaders
- Develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of the market, industry dynamics and competitive positioning to effectively drive growth. Transform insight and opportunities from market, competition and industry trends and detailed understanding of the value chain into concepts to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Identify innovation opportunities to meet anticipated customer and / or market needs. Provide clear and compelling justification for innovation projects
- Identify M&A opportunities and share insights and business proposals with VPs of Cleaning Goods and Personal Care & Pharma Business
- Translate ideas into concepts and marketing plans to fulfil new customer needs and give input for new product development and validate value creation at customer
- Track the performance of NPI / Vitality Index sales and execute plans to drive progress
- Conduct Voice of Customer and other market research as needed
- Identify and coordinate all regional trade shows, events, seminars, etc. in the region in close collaboration with the Marketing Communications team
- Develop content for sales tools and presentations that effectively communicate value propositions to customers
- Monitor competitive landscape and create and keep market intelligence up to date (incl. substituting and competing products, technologies), in collaboration with BI function.
- Plan and execute specific regional customer communication material, coordinate and participate in trade shows, exhibitions and industry groups
- Act as role model for corporate values, Nouryon business principles and Business standards both inside and outside the Business Line. Act as a role model and drive a safe behavior both individually and for colleagues
We believe you bring :
Master’s degree in marketing, Business, Chemical Engineering or a related field of studyA minimum of 10 years of prior experience in combination of sales, marketing or product management roles.Strong business and financial acumenFluency in English is required, additional languages are preferredExperience in the chemicals industry preferredComfortable working across global culturesCommunication and interpersonal skills, listening, writing, verbal, influencing, entrepreneurship, result-oriented, negotiation, and proven problem-solving abilitiesAbility to travel between 20% - 40% of the time.Good to know
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Regional Sales Director at the Amersfoort office.
Preferably the person will be based in the Netherlands, but we are also open to candidates located in other European countries.
