For one of our clients in the area of Amsterdam we are looking for a freelance Cloud Engineer.

Location : Amsterdam area

Start date : asap

Period : 3 months+

Availability : fulltime

Description

Our client is taking its first steps into the world of public Cloud and they want to make it easy for their DevOps engineers to start their journey. They are trying to achieve this in multiple ways.

Activities :

Developing a secure container platform with service mesh to host DevOps teams’ applications. This way our client enables DevOps teams to focus on engineering their customer functionality by delivering a platform that’s engineering ready, secure and monitored;
Ensuring that our clients risk controls are covered in their container platforms. After implementing risk controls and policies in code they want to create a proof of certification that their platform is secure and risk-free;
By starting a team focused on productization, education and inner source way of working in the public Cloud. Our client wants their (public) Cloud platform engineers to collaborate on a global scale via inner source. They also want to offer help to (public) Cloud platform engineers while productizing their platforms to be ready for global consumption.

Further requirements

Preferably a bachelor's degree in related field;

Knowledge of and experience with containers and container orchestration (i.e. Docker and Kubernetes) is a must;

Experience in Python is a must;

Experience in setting up pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps) is a must;

Experience with a major public Cloud provider (Azure preferred) is a must;

Believer and builder of Infrastructure as Code (we do this with Terraform and Helm);

Experience in helping engineers, either via education, consulting or migration help;

Experience with CNCF technologies is plus;

Experience with GitOps (e.g. Flux) and Service Mesh is a plus;

It’s also nice if you have knowledge of or experience with Observability, Risk & Security, Technical writing and Inner source;

Strong verbal and written communication skills (English and Dutch).
