At YAGHMA, we assess the non-financial, non-technical aspects of new technologies in various fields to help our clients and research project partners make a positive impact on the world with their innovations. To stay on the forefront of the research on social, ethical, governmental, legal and environmental impacts, we participate in various European and International research projects where we assess non-technical, non-financial aspects of the innovative solutions proposed by the project partners. Currently our focus is AI Impact Assessment aspects in health, manufacturing, energy, and mobility fields.
We are seeking a senior-level Research Project Manager to lead our EU Project team, coordinating a dynamic portfolio of Horizon Europe and other EU-funded research and innovation projects. These initiatives span sectors such as bio-based industries, smart manufacturing, food systems, AI-health, and social sciences, and our role are often grounded in the transversal assessment of technologies—including their ethical, social, environmental, and regulatory implications- as well as development of digital tools to support the assessments.
The successful candidate will work across project teams to ensure alignment, drive execution, and deliver results. Subject-matter expertise is not required, but the ability to manage complex, multi-actor projects and push for delivery under tight timelines is essential.
This is a leadership role requiring cross-functional coordination, demanding deadline management, and an assertive, proactive mindset. You will also play a key role in the acquisition of new projects, working on proposal development and tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the EU Project team and act as the main contact point for internal and external project coordination.
- Supervise a portfolio of EU projects (Horizon Europe and others) implemented by teams across various disciplines.
- Collaborate closely with scientific and technical leads to ensure deliverables, milestones, and budgets are met on time.
- Take on the coordinator role for Horizon Europe projects that Yaghma coordinates.
- Identify risks and bottlenecks in project execution and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage reporting obligations (technical and financial), liaising with the European Commission or other funding bodies.
- Facilitate internal coordination, communication flows, and timely contributions from all project participants.
- Support and / or lead the writing and submission of new grant proposals, including partnership building and budget coordination.
- Monitor funding opportunities and support the organization’s long-term project acquisition strategy.
- Coach and support junior project managers or administrators as needed.
How to be successful in this role :
Proven experience (7+ years) in coordinating or managing EU-funded projects, especially under Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, or similar programmes.Solid understanding of scientific project workflows, even across different disciplines.Demonstrated experience managing large consortia, ideally across borders and sectors.Excellent organizational and deadline-oriented mindset—must be comfortable being demanding when needed.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of navigating between researchers, administrators, and external stakeholders.Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are a plus.Strong ability to prospect and build pipeline without assistance.Preferred Profile
You have led national or European programmes of strategic importance, with a proven contribution to policy development and / or public-private investment.Experience as a Project Coordinator, or PMO Lead.You have co-initiated or authored successful proposals for the EU Horizon Europe, Dutch Growth Fund or similar programmes.Strategic mindset with the ability to connect project management to institutional goals.Ability to manage multiple projects at once under tight timelines.Comfortable with high expectations and leading a small team of project administrators or junior PMs.You are not just a thinker but also a builder – someone who translates complex ideas into functional ecosystems and concrete outcomes.What We Offer

In the role, you will travel to meet external project partners. We prioritize working form our office in Delft. The position is 80-100% depending on your availability and qualifications. Start date can be negotiated, preferably before September 1
