Job Description

Role : Network Engineer – Dutch Speaking

Location : Amsterdam (Hybrid : 2–3 days remote)

Language Requirement : Fluent Dutch (mandatory)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a freelance engagement supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure. The role involves managing and troubleshooting complex network environments using technologies such as Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco NAC, and SD-WAN, while following strict change and incident management procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Execute network configuration changes and service requests in accordance with customer change management protocols.
  • Perform incident diagnosis and resolution in collaboration with OEM vendors.
  • Develop scripts and automation for network tasks involving LAN, WLAN, Firewall, DNS, and DHCP services.
  • Collaborate with application owners to assess bandwidth requirements for new link implementations.
  • Coordinate with ISPs for deployment of internet and WAN links.
  • Manage iOS upgrades and downgrades on switches, routers, and wireless devices.
  • Support major incident management and deliver root cause analysis reports for critical network issues.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Fluent in Dutch (mandatory).
  • Proven expertise with :
  • Cisco Meraki, Cisco NAC
  • Fortinet firewalls
  • Palo Alto (preferred)
  • Routing and Switching
  • SD-WAN technologies
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting for routine network operations.
  • Experience with major incident / problem management processes.

    • Preferred Certifications :

  • CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE (preferred but not mandatory)
