Lead the Mission – Project Manager Axient Systems

Location : Axient Systems office – Delft, The Netherlands

Level : Senior

Salary Range : €95K – 140K annually

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead Space system projects from concept development and mission design to launch and satellite on orbit operations, overseeing complex engineering efforts, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and acting as a key customer interface throughout the entire mission lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Project Manager at Axient Systems, you will :

  • Own and drive the success of a portfolio of space projects from development through delivery.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams across systems engineering, AI&T, software, operations, and supply chain.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules and budgets, ensuring milestones are met on time and within scope.
  • Oversee procurement of critical components including flight hardware and software.
  • Deliver high-quality technical and status reports, risk registers, and projects documentation.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to strategic growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business development and leadership to identify new mission opportunities.

What you Bring to the Team

  • 10+ years of experience in project management in aerospace, defence, or space systems.
  • Proven success managing multi-million-euro projects with interdisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering, mission assurance, and / or product lifecycle management.
  • Thorough understanding of space systems and subsystems and mission areas (e.g., satellite communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; space situational awareness).
  • Significant experience with systems engineering methods including systems trades, requirements management, performance characterization and interface management.
  • Thorough understanding of a space mission lifecycle from concept through operation including AI&T.
  • Demonstrated experience with government or defence customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics or Business. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with satellite missions of smallsats (>

    • 250kg) or larger.

  • A passion for space technology and pushing innovation boundaries.
  • Experience working across international teams and time zones.
  • A breadth and depth of experience across multiple spacecraft engineering disciplines and / or subsystems.
