Embedded Systems Engineer

Embedded Systems Engineer - Semiconductor - Amsterdam, the Netherland

We’re working with a fast-growing startup in the semiconductor industry that’s looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer. In this role, you’ll work closely with both hardware and software teams to develop the core software that runs on advanced processor chips. You’ll be involved in everything from starting up the system to writing drivers and working with the operating system.

Key Responsibilities :

• Write and maintain software that starts up the system, like bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot), and low-level drivers.
• Work with hardware engineers to make sure the software works smoothly with new chips and boards.
• Help bring up Linux on new hardware platforms.
• Design and write core system software, including firmware and kernel modules.
• Debug and fix issues in the interaction between hardware and software.
• Build and support the full software stack (OS, drivers, libraries, firmware).
• Make the system run faster, use less power, and be more reliable.
• Join architecture and design discussions, giving input from the software side.
