You will be working with a forward-thinking technology team located in Groningen, Netherlands , supporting critical enterprise-grade Java-based migration and cloud transformation initiatives. The environment encourages technical leadership, continuous improvement, and hands-on architecture and development.

About the Role :

We are seeking experienced Java / Spring Boot Technical Architects or Leads for a -month contract , with a high likelihood of extension . You'll play a key role in modernizing and migrating enterprise Java applications to the cloud, with a focus on AWS, EKS, and Kafka .

This is a hybrid role , requiring to days onsite in Groningen, Netherlands . Candidates must be fluent in Dutch , and interviews will be conducted in the Dutch language. CV submissions must be in Dutch.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the design and development of scalable Java / Spring Boot applications

Drive cloud migration projects, particularly from on-premise systems to AWS using EKS

Perform hands-on development using Java / , Spring Boot, JPA, Kafka, and PostgreSQL

Optimize CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of system architecture with business goals

Participate in – large-scale migration projects from on-prem to AWS

Create and manage Docker files; familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus

Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of systems

Preferred Skills :

• years of experience in application design and development

Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Rest, JPA, and RDS PostgreSQL

Experience with Apache Tomcat Server (+)

Hands-on cloud experience with AWS and EKS

Strong understanding of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and Jenkins

Proven experience in Java version upgrades (, Java to / )

Experience in at least to cloud migration projects
