Piping Engineer - Offshore Oil & Gas Production - The Hague area
This position is part of the Project & Engineering Team. The piping engineer assists the lead engineer in the initiation phase of the technical management of change process. Once approved and for single discipline scopes, the piping engineer works out the scope in detail and creates a piping workset which includes marked up drawings and isometric sketching (Autocad drafting is performed by others). Large or multi-discipline projects are outsourced where the piping engineer shall manage his / her discipline. The plant change process is a collaboration between the discipline engineers and the project engineers within the team. The piping engineer shall also work closely with the operational and HSE teams as well as various contractors and suppliers. Managing as-build drawings (based on received remark sets) and approval of (updated) drawings via our document management system is part of the scope. The activities involve mostly brownfield projects.
Main duties & responsibilities :
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to :
- Demonstrate HSE Leadership and contribute to the organisations Safety performance and Culture
- Assumes responsibility for asset plant change execution in the piping engineering discipline
- Verifies contractors work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment / component selection, deliverables, and drawings
- Carry out technical bid evaluations to ensure vendor compliance with material requisitions
- Deliver technical expertise and support to production operations
- Assist in initiation of plant change projects and give technical expertise to modifications
- Review and approval of technical drawings
- Drives continuous improvement
- Ensures effective management of change

BSc. Mechanical Engineering (HTS) or acting on this level based on experience and / or previous jobs.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry (preferably upstream) in a piping engineer role.Living in the Netherlands.A thorough understanding of applicable standards, technologies and practices related to oil and gas.Relevant and demonstrable knowledge / experience of / with mechanical static (and rotating) equipment.Demonstrable interpersonal skills both in motivating and influencing stakeholders to continuously drive for improvements.Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in Dutch (requirement) and English.Occasional short offshore travels must be expected (required training will be provided)Good communication, networking, facilitation & presentation skills
