For one of our clients we are looking for a freelance DevOps Engineer (with a focus on ELK).

Location : Amsterdam area

Start date : A.s.a.p.

Period : 3 months with option to extend

Availability : Fulltime

Description

You are an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer with deep knowledge in one infrastructure-related topic. You will develop consumable, automated end-to-end infrastructure services for your consumers together with your squad. You are able to move all typical user stories and tasks from “To-Do” to “Done”. Besides your squad you will also be member of a chapter. In a chapter you develop your skills, share knowledge, experience and discuss challenges. The chapter is all about craftsmanship.

Summary

Metrics count, events happen, alerts are raised, logs are stored... for all services, every second. Your in-depth knowledge of the new generation monitoring tools and your creativity to deliver a fully self-service solution for every monitoring service ensures that our squads have the best monitoring in place.

Competence

This role is indicated as a Competent level. For this role we also need very specific skills on ELK next to the skills mentioned below :

Of course, a good understanding of Linux;

Hands on experience in Elasticsearch ELK stack- Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash, API intergration;

Hands on experience with security integration like LDAP with Elasticsearch environment;

Experience with evaluating existing Elastic clusters, configuration parameters, indexing, search and query performance tuning, security and administration;

Proven experience with DevOps technologies like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Openstack, or similar is a strong plus;

Hands on experience with Ansible, preferable has deployed the ELK stack with Ansible;

Experience in using Ansible or a similar tool;

Experience with API development;

Competent in using Python, Powershell, Java or Golang;

Solid understanding of Software Engineering and Computer Science principles;

Experience in working in an agile environment is a plus;

At least a bachelor’s degree.
