Role Overview :
AniCura is looking for a Group Tax Manager / Controller to support our growing international business by leading group-level tax accounting, reporting, and transfer pricing. This role requires excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to navigate a digital and cross-functional environment, and a proactive approach to ensuring AniCura remains tax compliant and audit-ready across jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Head of Tax & Treasury, the Group Tax Manager / Controller will collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and external advisers to ensure accurate tax reporting, support strategic projects, and implement efficient tax-related processes aligned with AniCura’s growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Accounting & Reporting (US GAAP and Statutory)
- Lead the preparation of AniCura’s year-end US GAAP tax provision, in line with Mars Inc. policies
- Manage return-to-provision (RTP) adjustments and true-up processes quarterly and annually
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of uncertain tax positions under FIN48
- Prepare and review tax disclosures and notes for consolidated financial statements
- Review and validate corporate income tax return inputs and reconciliations across multiple countries
- Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams during the financial close process
- Provide group-level tax information and analysis for internal and external reporting (e.g., for Mars Inc.Veterinary Health)
2. Operational Transfer Pricing
Oversee intercompany invoicing processes, ensuring timely billing and appropriate documentationMaintain a governance framework for intercompany agreements and service fee modelsLiaise with external advisors to maintain and update local and master TP documentation (OECD-aligned)Manage quarterly and annual true-up calculations to ensure arm’s length pricing across group entitiesSupport implementation and monitoring of new TP models resulting from restructuring or changes in servicesEnsure transfer pricing compliance across AniCura’s multinational legal entity structure3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a key connector between the tax function and other teams (Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Controlling)Partner with the Accounting team on tax provision inputs, deferred tax positions, and reconciliationsWork with Legal and Procurement on contract reviews to assess tax implications (e.g., WHT, PE risk)Collaborate with Treasury on tax-efficient cash repatriation, intercompany loans, and capital structuresEducate and support local finance and leadership teams on key tax and transfer pricing considerations4. Tax Audit, Compliance & Country-Level Support
Lead and coordinate responses to tax audits and queries from local tax authoritiesMaintain clear audit trails, documentation, and evidence to support tax positions and filingsSupport timely and accurate preparation of corporate tax returns in collaboration with external providersProvide guidance to local finance teams on VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and filing obligationsMonitor legislative developments in European and global tax environments, and assess their impact on AniCuraSupport PE risk management and ensure proper entity structuring for cross-border operations5. Strategic Projects & Advisory
Support the Head of Tax & Treasury in structuring and implementing tax aspects of M&A and reorganizationsProvide tax input during due diligence, integration planning, and post-deal compliance for acquisitionsCollaborate on tax modeling and impact assessments for new business models and service offeringsCoordinate with external advisors on complex or high-risk tax matters, including litigation or disputesSupport the development and execution of AniCura’s tax risk management and governance framework6. Process Improvement & Internal Controls
Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve the efficiency of tax operationsContribute to the design and implementation of internal controls over tax reporting and complianceLeverage technology and tools (e.g., ERP systems, tax reporting platforms) to enhance reporting accuracyFoster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and collaboration within the Tax & Treasury teamSummary of the Role :
