Mission

Manage existing and create new customer portfolio in the Netherlands.

Be the eyes and ears of Lhoist on the market, scout for new opportunities.

Pursue business growth by initiating and managing New Business Development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the commercial strategy defined by the Commercial manager Benelux.
  • Be the company’s eyes and ears on the market and scout for opportunities : Understand and translate into numbers Market trends, current and future needs .Conduct market studies to identify new opportunities and quantify their financial and technical feasibility.Work in close collaboration with Customer Technical Service (CTS), the Business Innovation Center (BIC), and other regions to maximize knowledge sharing and cross-fertilization.Participate to seminars and fairs and interact with specialized press to promote our products / solutions.Organize Technical Study Days and develop a network of equipment builders, engineering bureaus, consultants, and other stakeholders.Monitor competition activities.
  • Pursue business growth : Initiate and manage NBD projects at existing or new customers in close collaboration with CTS, BIC and other colleagues in European business units.Initiate and follow up technical trials with new products / processes : definition of a trial protocol, follow-up of the trial, collection and interpretation of the data, writing and presentation of the trial report.Convert successful trials into sales and ensure commercial roll-out.
  • Manage a customer portfolio : Identify and understand the customer’s needs.Develop and maintain long term relationships with customers.Ensure the coordination between the customer and the different internal Lhoist services : Production, Finance, Back Office, etc.Establish and pursue an annual volume budget.Participate to tenders and write out price offers.Negotiate new supply contracts, specifications and price agreements.Report on your activities

Education

  • Scientific University degree, Business Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Civil Engineer, Chemist Bio-Engineer or Economics degree. My preference is an Engineer
  • Skills

  • Fluent Dutch and English, any other language (especially German or French) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical or marketing position in the industry.
  • Passion for Industry, Products and Innovative Solutions.
  • Commercial affinity, negotiation skills. Account management experience is a plus.
  • Great degree of autonomy and flexibility, ability to manage timing and priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Team player, open minded, positive towards change.
