The Role
As an Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will take the lead on managing and delivering end-to-end VAT advisory, compliance, and audit support for a diverse portfolio of multinational clients. You'll advise on Dutch and EU VAT, global indirect tax developments, and support clients with international expansion, supply chain restructuring, and cross-border transactions.
You'll also play a key role in team leadership, client relationship management, and business development, helping shape the future of the firm's fast-growing indirect tax offering.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic indirect tax advice to multinational clients on Dutch, EU, and global VAT matters
- Lead on complex cross-border transactions, tax optimisation strategies, and supply chain reviews
- Manage the preparation and review of VAT returns, compliance processes, and tax reporting obligations
- Represent clients during VAT audits and liaise with Dutch tax authorities where necessary
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new advisory opportunities and delivering excellent service
- Contribute to the growth of the indirect tax team through mentorship, coaching, and technical development of junior staff
- Play an active role in thought leadership, training sessions, and business development activities
Candidate Profile
7+ years of experience in indirect tax / VAT advisory, preferably within a large professional services firm or multinational companyIn-depth technical knowledge of Dutch and EU VAT regulations and international indirect tax frameworksA strong commercial mindset with the ability to deliver practical, value-driven adviceExcellent leadership and project management skillsFluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage but not mandatoryComfortable engaging with clients at senior levels and contributing to strategic decision-makingACA / CTA, LLM, or relevant postgraduate tax qualification is a plusWhat's on Offer
