The Business Development & Marketing Executive plays a vital role in supporting the Sales teams, internal departments, and customers. This position is responsible for developing The Business Development & Marketing Executive plays a vital role in supporting the Sales teams, internal departments, and customers. This position is responsible for developing performance reports, conducting business analysis, and providing insights into market conditions — all aimed at advising and supporting the Sales department.By gathering market intelligence, coordinating customer surveys, and managing product campaigns, the role contributes to generating valuable insights that drive sales performance. Additionally, a well-structured and maintained marketing plan is essential to effectively promote the company to its customers.

The Business Development & Marketing Executive is also actively involved in the implementation of new processes and tools related to the Sales department, ensuring that all are executed effectively and in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile overviews and conduct analysis on market trends, trade data, and customer information
  • Manage and maintain agency sales segmentation
  • Monitor sales performance and ensure accuracy in compensation tracking
  • Support the target-setting process and ensure the quality of targets from business lines
  • Develop and maintain tools to support sales efforts
  • Generate reports and perform data quality checks within the CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Analyze market identification data from the CRM
  • Collect market data and intelligence, including benchmarking; coordinate customer surveys and product campaigns
  • Create marketing communications and sales support materials (Sales toolkit)
  • Ensure that the Sales Teams adhere to Business Value principles and established sales processes
  • Participate in new projects and processes (such as AQUA / NOVA)
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Finance, Customer Service, ILS) to drive continuous process improvements
  • Monitor local charges and track local revenue
  • Support additional projects and identify new market opportunities

Skills and Competencies

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch and French is preferred
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused and results-driven approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive and goal-oriented mindset
  • Previous experience within the Maritime shipping industry is required
