Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role
The Application Manager Service oversees various strategic and operational responsibilities encompassing various support functions like incident and problem management, change control, and vendor collaboration to ensure seamless operation of production systems across different environments.
- 8+ year of Application manager experience
- Leadership and accountability
- Provides escalation support as needed
- Provide Delivery Management, Project management and development experience in Oracle APEX, Customs / Export functionalities
- Excellent verbal and written communication. Can absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must Have Competencies
Team Leadership : Provision of an experienced Application Production Support Manager to lead and manage the support team effectively.Incident Management : Prompt resolution of production incidents, minimizing downtime, and restoring service functionality.Service Request Management : Timely processing and fulfillment of service requests to address user needs and maintain operational continuity.Problem Management : Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents.Change Management : Management of changes to production systems, ensuring adherence to change control processes.Major Incident Management : Owns and accountable for the resolution of Major Incident Management and communications to business stakeholders.Monitoring and Alerting : Establishment and maintenance of robust monitoring solutions to proactively detect and address system issues.Documentation and Reporting : Comprehensive documentation of production systems, incidents, and resolutions, along with regular reports on service performance and operational metrics.Adaptive Maintenance Management : Facilitate and manage patching and End-of-Service-Life Projects to ensure applications are supported by appropriate hardware and software.Vendor Management : Collaboration with external vendors and service providers to address support issues and escalate technical challenges as necessary.Deployment and Release Management - Managing deployment activities across environments, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to release schedules.Recommends operational and maintenance acceptance of new systems and services.Contributes to departmental policy, procedures, and practices on matters such as security, health and safety, environmental controls, service facilities, and media storage.Ensures that regular meetings to review performance and progress take place with suppliers. Liaises regularly with service providers and customers to review and improve performance against SLA.Interpretation of scan results and remediation of vulnerabilities identified by application security, vulnerability management, and penetration testing tools.Manage and comply with Xerox security requirementsDeveloping, Implementing, maintaining Business Continuity PlansProvide Subject Matter expertise to guide the business for Venray apps and Customs / Export functionalitiesDevelopment and support of Apex based toolsGood understanding of Supply Chain processesGood to Have Competencies
Is able to assess and evaluate risk and to understand the implications of new technologies.
