We are currently looking for a freelance Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in offshore subsea cable installation to lead a technically complex work scope within a high-profile offshore energy project.

This assignment is based in the South of the Netherlands, with international interface exposure and the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team from preparation through execution.

About the Company

You’ll be working with an established international engineering consultancy that supports Tier-1 clients in the delivery of offshore energy infrastructure. The organisation is known for its strong technical expertise, pragmatic approach, and hands-on project culture.

Role Overview

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the full execution of the subsea cable installation scope — from preparation and marine coordination to offshore delivery and client interface.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of offshore cable installation activities (engineering, procurement, execution, close-out).
  • Act as the central point of contact between client, internal engineering teams, vessel management, and subcontractors.
  • Drive progress on schedules, budgets, risk management and operational coordination.
  • Oversee development and review of method statements and risk assessments.
  • Support vessel readiness, mobilisation, and offshore execution phases.
  • Ensure safety and quality compliance across all interfaces and stakeholders.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Offshore, Marine, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in offshore power cable or subsea installation.
  • Strong leadership skills in high-pressure offshore environments.
  • Proven ability to manage project stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Willingness to work partially on-site (South of the Netherlands) and travel when needed.

  • Duration : 6–9 months (freelance contract)
  • Location : South of the Netherlands (hybrid : ±50% on-site, 50% remote)
  • Conditions : Competitive day rate; for international candidates, housing and per diem may be provided.
