Technical Application Administrator

24 months + option to extend (Freelance contract)

Job Summary : Technical application administration in a dynamic and diverse environment using various techniques and an almost complete Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environment in which many administrative issues are automated through APIs and pipelines. The objective is to provide technical application management in a dynamic and diverse environment. The Operations Manager will participate in 24x7 on-call shifts.

Mission Goal : To achieve a well-functioning operational IT environment that meets established requirements and standards through a DevOps approach and the SAFe framework. The team works together effectively and strives for continuous improvement. It is also important that all work is fully documented and knowledge is actively shared with colleagues in the field, taking an active stance. The senior candidate must be able to acquire new knowledge quickly, think analytically and solve problems independently.

General Requirements :

  • Language : the candidate is proficient in written and spoken Dutch

o Participates in 24 / 7 on-call shifts every 3 to 5 weeks. The on-call shifts must take place throughout the week despite possible part-time availability.

o Candidate will work on-site when requested or required. Typically 2x per week and in the case of knowledge transfer, this may require more intensive on-site work.

  • Education level : at least HBO

    • Responsibilities :

  • Manage and automate a dynamic IT environment utilizing various techniques and a near full Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environment.
  • Execution of 24x7 deployment services.
  • Collaborating in (SAFe) Scrum teams consisting of colleagues from the client, end customer and other organizations to jointly achieve goals.
  • Migrating applications from VMs to a Kubernetes platform.
  • Documenting work, processes and procedures in tools such as Jira and Confluence and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Acquire new knowledge quickly and solve problems independently.

    • Requirements : Experience in application management, Redhat 8.x or 9.x, Linux, Docker, Gitlab, CI / CD, Ansible Playbook, Python, Rancher, Elastic, Uptrends, Nessus.

    Further requirements : PKIO, (Open)SSL client / server certificate authentication, (Linux) security, web (OWASP) security, eBMS messaging, Zabbix, Prometheus, PostgreSQL, Barman, MinIO, Harbor, Alpine or Wolfi (container OS), ServiceNow, Clientéle, Jira, Confluence.
