Senior Storage Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Storage Engineer to maintain, modernise and deploy storage systems in a complex environment for a HFT (High Frequency Trading) company based out of Amsterdam Zuid.

Role Overview :

Join our team as a Senior Storage Systems Engineer, where you will design, deploy, and manage a complex global storage platform, ensuring exceptional performance, scalability, and reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize data workflows, accelerate computational workloads, and integrate advanced storage systems with distributed computing clusters.

Tackle complex storage, Linux, and networking challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining continuous uptime through 'follow-the-sun' support.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and optimize high-performance storage platforms tailored for global-scale compute environments.
Collaborate with engineering teams to align storage solutions with diverse computational needs.
Diagnose and resolve intricate storage, Linux, and networking issues.
Ensure seamless compatibility of storage systems across distributed clusters and multiple locations.

Required Skills and Experience :

7+ years in storage system architecture and large-scale compute environments.

Proficiency in storage systems such as Lustre, GPFS, Ceph, or Weka.

Expertise in Linux engineering, from bare-metal to storage stack implementation.

Experience in storage benchmarking, performance tuning, and large-scale capacity management.

Strong programming skills in Rust, Python, Go, or Bash.

Familiarity with hardware components like NVMe, PCIe, and NICs critical to storage performance.
