Are you a technical all-rounder with a wide range of interests? Become a Technical Support Engineer at Reikon! Combine mechanics and electrical engineering, work on board of ships and develop yourself in the maritime sector.

On behalf of Reikon BV , MARPRO Group is looking for a Technical Support Engineer for the office in Spijkenisse. You will report to the Service Manager of the company.

The job

You will work from the office in Spijkenisse, where the projects start. From there, you carry out service and commissioning on board ships.

The work consists of installing, testing and maintaining both mechanical and electrical systems, such as ballast water treatment plants, pumps, drinking water production systems, bilge water separators, STP plants and incinerators.

You are the point of contact on-site for the customer and ensure timely delivery of a well-functioning installation, including reporting and handover. Most of the work takes place in the Netherlands, but sometimes you also travel to other European countries. No two days are the same in this challenging and dynamic position.

Starters are also welcome! Don't have a lot of experience yet, but do you have an affinity with both mechanical and electrical systems? We offer training opportunities and the space to develop yourself within our organisation.

Additional responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Sales, Engineering, and Customers.
  • Overhaul of pumps.
  • Carrying out installation checks and commissioning on site.
  • Working on projects from A to Z, where you encounter both mechanical and electrical challenges.
  • Administrative work such as drawing up a report.
  • Aftersales, troubleshooting and product improvement.
  • Participate in the company’s breakdown service.

Professional qualifications and personal characteristics

  • MBO+ working and thinking level and / or education level (mechanical or electrical / mechatronics).
  • Affinity with both electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • In possession of Driver's License B.
  • Experience with computers and software systems.
  • Willing to carry out the work irregularly.
  • Willing to carry out the work internationally.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.
  • VCA certificate in possession or willing to obtain one.
  • A dose of humour and Rotterdam's 'roll up your sleeves' mentality.
