R&D Product Development & Administration

We are seeking for an energetic fulltime JR. Product Developer for our office in Dongen (the Netherlands) to join our multicultural, entrepreneurial, growing department. Together with the Product Development Manager, you need to streamline the development of new leathers in order to make sure they can hit production. Analysis and control of data and an excellent planning are a key part of the job. You will work close to Leather Designers, Sales Managers, the Technical Team in our R&D in the Netherlands and the production teams in our own tanneries in Asia.

Position description :

Are you a passionate graduate or young professional?

If so, you could be the right person to join our team!! In this role you will :

Follow developments from start to the end in close relationship with our technical team;
Communicate the status of projects to all relevant stakeholders;
Maintain all projects in the required systems so master data can be generated easily;
Add relevant projects to the R&D planning;
Keep production master references organized;
Create briefings of new projects together with our customers;
Prepare handovers for new leather projects from development phase to production, making sure all necessary references and data is available;
Prepare all necessary product information for the sales team;
Initiate lab tests of new articles;
Gather information on sales / customers’ reactions to products;
Give administrative support by using necessary data systems like e.g. SAP;
Identify production and supply difficulties and deal with any problems or delays;
Be a back-up for other areas in the department like planning or master data controller.

Requirements :

In order to succeed in this position you need to be able to work closely with multiple cultures, on a high level of English in a very fast paced environment. You need to keep many balls in the air at the same time and communicate efficiently with all different stakeholders. To be successful in this position, you need to have a strong hands-on mentality and :

You have a bachelor degree in textile management, fashion management, product development,business administration or any related major;

Work experience with leather or in product development is good but not required;

You’re a team player with good communication skills in English, both verbal and written;

You have an analytical mind and you are quick to understand complex data;

You are proactive and you can pave your own way to get your tasks done;

You need to do close follow up with the technical team in our R&D and review leathers, so we need you to be present at our location in the Netherlands;

And last but not least, you have very good Excel- skills.
