Position Summary

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Quality Operations Lead (Quality Engineering (Senior) Manager) to join our team located in Leiden, Netherlands. This position can be on a senior manager level.

Under the direction of the Site Quality Lead, the objective is to maintain high quality standards of the product manufacturing process and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and administer the activities of Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing requirements to ensure maximum utilization of personnel to fulfill department objectives.
  • Approve purchases and expense reports submitted by direct reports.
  • Ensure that the quality aspects for new processes, products, and upgrading of existing processes and products are met.
  • Support / Initiate investigations for non-conformances.
  • Approve specification and process changes per applicable procedures.
  • Provide feedback to operations on problems related to quality and / or compliance.
  • Support Operations in evaluation and implementation of action plans to eliminate root causes of non-conformances.
  • Support Validations as required.
  • Support internal audit programs.
  • Promote the use of Process Excellence tools to enhance analytical thinking and problem-solving techniques.
  • Participate and support safety initiatives within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform annual performance appraisals for identified associates and establish objectives and development plans for direct reports.
  • Train, coach, and develop direct reports and Quality Operations function.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • University / Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering, science, mathematics, or statistics or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of eight years related manufacturing experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Supervisory skills experience.
  • CQE certification, Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating collaboration across the organization.
  • Ability to define and resolve problems.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity in a complex environment.
