Is to design and implement a data ecosystem that not only keeps pace with bol’s rapid growth but anticipates future needs. You’ll need to bridge the gap between our engineering culture, where data is often considered a by-product, and our business vision, which already recognizes data’s immense potential. As such, you’ll be at the forefront of bol’s data revolution, guiding senior leadership through the necessary changes. What you'll do as Data Architect

Reporting to the Director of Data, Analytics & AI, you’ll be the driving force behind bol’s enterprise-wide data architecture strategy. Your scope will span the entire organization, influencing how we collect, store, manage, and leverage data across our operations. You’ll develop the enterprise data architecture strategy and implement it by defining and enforcing data architecture principles, ensuring alignment with compliance while stimulating innovation. You will ensure all data processes are facilitated by technology, by guiding the selection and integration of advanced data management platforms and tools to build a state-of-the-art data ecosystem. A key responsibility will be facilitating the creation and maintenance of our Enterprise Data Model, providing a holistic view of data across bol. To succeed, you need to represent data at different levels of abstraction so that it can be better interpreted to inspire well-informed management decisions and enabling proper data management practices.

Your expertise will be crucial in enabling future business innovations. You’ll achieve this through training, coaching, and direct contributions to projects. You’ll identify new opportunities for data value creation, including cutting-edge applications in data science and AI. The role also involves performing architecture and modeling design reviews to ensure scalability and security. This is critical as we navigate high-risk subjects. Beyond the technical aspects, you’ll contribute to the evangelization of the data strategy and to maturing bol’s data organization, covering crucial areas such as Data Management, (Advanced) Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. Summing up :

• Lead the development and implementation of bol’s enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology capabilities.
• Evangelize data strategy across the organization, championing the value of data and influencing practices through design, documentation, review, and cross-team negotiations to support strategic business and technology goals.
• Collaborate with Technology & Product leadership and business stakeholders to understand data needs, identify architectural gaps, and propose solutions that enhance data accessibility, reliability, and scalability.
• Facilitate, design and manage robust, scalable data models and architectures to meet bol’s current and long-term data requirements, focusing on efficiency and quality, while aligning on compliance and security requirements.
• Guide the selection and integration of advanced data management platforms and tools (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, ETL tools) to build a state-of-the-art data ecosystem.
• Establish and enforce data architecture standards and principles, encompassing modelling, metadata, security, reference data, and master data management.
• Drive continuous improvement of the data platform, including technology stack upgrades, cost optimization, and compliance with evolving requirements.
