A dynamic and growing international organization is seeking a sharp and detail-oriented Finance Controller to join its Global Team, based in Utrecht. This is a critical role that supports senior finance leadership with insights and analysis to drive key decisions across global operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Finance Controller, you’ll be the financial backbone of the Global team. Your responsibilities will span everything from month-end close and forecasting to audit management and strategic financial analysis. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams, including market teams and distribution partners, ensuring high-quality reporting and compliance across the board.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Delivering accurate and insightful financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Managing month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Supporting internal controls and compliance with accounting policies
  • Tracking and forecasting SG&A and A&P spend across global markets
  • Working with external distributors on AR and open-book policy compliance
  • Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects for finance processes
  • Preparing and managing actual financial statements and assisting with audits
  • Ensuring alignment with internal control frameworks and corporate policies
  • Coordinating credit control activities and overdue management
  • Handling SAP-related tasks (FI-COPA Recon, WBS creation, BPC submissions, etc.)

What You’ll Bring

You’re a proactive, analytical thinker with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You enjoy digging into the numbers, spotting trends, and offering recommendations that help shape business strategy.

Essential qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in a financial role, ideally in a controller position
  • Excellent command of financial reporting and business performance management
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable with tight deadlines and occasional travel
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

    • Bonus points if you have :

  • Progress toward a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
  • Background in FMCG or consumer goods
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Previous exposure to international markets and cross-border collaboration
