Our client is a market leading business with a global reputation. For their European HQ in the Netherlands, they are seeking a highly skilled technical accountant to perform a key and high visibility role within their finance organization.

General Profile

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the End of Month Financial closing and analysis for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Advise Finance management on complex accounting and finance issues.
  • Prepare auditor-reviewed quarterly consolidated financials for the group of entities under mandate.
  • Prepare or review the statutory financial statement of multiple entities and perform the full consolidation of subsidiaries and branches.
  • Prepare the Directors Report and coordinate the collection of required information from the internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the audit of multiple entities with external auditors and local managements of respective entities.
  • Align with Tax Unit for tax compliance activities and supporting the maintenance of the Tax Control Framework.
  • Maintain the General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, and manage changes in line with company policy.
  • Recommend and implement changes to the existing and developing new Accounting and Reporting guidelines and policies.
  • Perform technical accounting analysis and develop memos for informed decision making.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements in local jurisdictions.

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor ( / Master) degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics, supplemented with a post-graduate title (such as CPA, ACCA, RA).
  • Combination of Big 4 and industry experience is a must.
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend professionally in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive work experience in technical accounting, reporting, consolidations, financial statement preparation and external audit coordination.
  • Strong understanding and application of IFRS standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, S4 / HANA, SAP Central Finance, advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience with BPC is a plus.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
