For one of our clients we are looking for a Corporate Accountant who will be supporting the Netherlands legal entities structure on accounting and reporting technical subjects as well as external reporting.
The Corporate Accountant will work in optimal collaboration with the Accounting team responsible for general accounting and reporting for the various legal entities with upstream oil, gas and hydrogen activities in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- Advise on accounting and reporting technical subjects
- Assist with Group Accounting Review Documents where required
- Prepare consolidated holdings statutory accounts using accounting and reporting systems based on SAP. The Dutch holdings consolidated accounts comprise E&P businesses in European, African and Asian countries.
- Efficiently retrieve the necessary (financial) disclosure information from the various consolidated Group businesses.
- Prepare stand-alone statutory accounts for various other Dutch entities
- Act as main focal point for statutory auditors and ensure that high quality supporting documentation can be provided to them in a timely manner
- Perform reviews on more complex activities performed by the Accounting team, mainly during month and quarterly closings. E.g. look after correctness, completeness and adequate documentation of complex accounting entries, disclosures and Group reporting.
- Involvement in any other accounting and reporting related projects on an ad hoc basis

In addition, there is a strong requirement to work cross-functionally and interface with all geographical areas.Required competences / Qualifications
Master degree in an Accounting related discipline or certified public accountantMinimum 10 years’ experience in a similar financial position, preferably Big Four and / or E&P companyA solid grasp of general financial topics and functions and in particular Dutch GAAP and IFRSOutstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal (English)Well organized with an aptitude for dataSolid networking and interpersonal skillsExperience managing small to medium projectsDemonstrate problem solving abilities, including identifying critical issues and problem resolutionAbility to prioritize and manage multiple activities and projects, while producing accurate and thorough workWe encourage candidates to apply who are currently living in The Netherlands.
