Global Employee & labour Relations
Global Employee & labour Relations is a Centre of Expertise in our Maersk People Function, supporting our Brands and Business Units, including APM Terminals. We are responsible for the development and implementation of the vision and strategy of Maersk in the key specialist area of (international) employee & labour relations (E&LR). We ensure that the fundamental employee and labour rights of our employees are respected throughout the company, and we are responsible for defining and building functional capabilities, as well as policies, procedures, and governance, in E&LR. In addition, we are responsible for building constructive and productive relationships with (international) trade unions, other employee representative bodies and external stakeholders.
The vacant Role
We currently have a role as Senior Employee & labour Relations Specialist vacant, with a special focus on APM Terminals. In this role you will provide expert E&LR support to both large scale and Lean based operations improvement initiatives, as well as terminal Modernisation programs. Both include work process standardization, introduction of new technologies in our operations, expanding lean operating systems and systematic data visualization. These initiatives are crucial for the future way of working and way of operating our terminals.
Key Responsibilities
Supports our terminals with the development of their E&LR-strategy, in collaboration with terminal management and staff and with regional teams, to support Modernisation and Operational efficiency programs. Follows up with terminal teams on execution of said strategy, raises risks and issues in a timely manner.
Where needed, supports terminal E&LR teams with planning and executing strategies and collaboration with local stakeholders when related to Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives.
Develops specific terminal E&LR materials for Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives together with terminal teams and Change Management and Communication support teams. Coordinates inputs for materials with local and global teams.
Close alignment with Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives change management and communication teams to support the overall integrated plan.
Creates overviews of consultation and obligation requirements (trade unions, works councils, staff representatives, etc.) and timelines relevant to all terminals in scope for Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives.
Creates and maintains a heatmap of all terminals that are in scope for Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives.
Supports with CBA and local (legal) requirements translation into Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives business cases and terminal roadmaps.
Supports with Modernisation and Operational efficiency initiatives and its pre-requisite strategy implementation .
Additional Responsibilities
Contributing to the APM Terminals overarching strategy framework for employee- and labour management, i.e. a forward view that allows us to continuously improve how we manage and collaborate with our teams and with their representatives to enable the strategic imperatives of APM Terminals (Preferred partner to governments | Best product to shipping lines | Operational Excellence | Close ties to Maersk).
Contributing to the development and implementation of Maersk E&LR strategies, policies, tools, and practices related to the different initiatives with the special focus on promoting safety culture in our operations, in cooperation with the business, People Function and E&LR staff in the global team and the Regional E&LR Leaders.
You will work in close collaboration with all key critical internal and external stakeholder as it relates to these initiatives. This role reports into the A.P. Moller - Maersk Head of Global Employee and Labour Relations.

We are looking for
A change-oriented E&LR professional with at least 5 to 10 years of experience.
Experience with working in a complex and demanding employee and labour environment, with modernization and / or change management focus in logistics or related industries.
A result-driven positive thinker who will show leadership by embracing, living, and reinforcing our company Values and our People Culture.
Knowledge of (international) employee and labour conventions and relevant local legislation, employment standards, human rights codes and health and safety legislation.
Experience with collective bargaining and with change management processes involving the workforce.
Excellent consulting, influencing and behavior skills and ability to build consensus among diverse groups.
A trustful advisor who can build credibility by providing professional advice to support in local initiatives and situations.
You can work independently, but you also enjoy working in close collaboration with others in a matrixed organization.
Fluency in English language both verbally and in writing. Sound writing skills to provide understandable advises to local management and colleagues.
