Are you an energetic Risk Business Partner and ready to help ING Businesses take control and manage their non-financial risks proactively? We have an exciting opportunity to join ING Bank COO’s new First-Line Risk organisation, Operational Design Control and Resilience (ODCR), as a Business Partner. You will provide specialist expertise to support the execution of risk & compliance activities to drive change across the business. Working cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders to enable the achievement of business outcomes.

You will work in the Process Control & Resilience (PCR) Team of ODCR that is focused on WB Lending and other WB (Sectors, CTO, NL and WB COO). Global ODCR resides in the COO domain. Your department is responsible for enabling the Wholesale Banking business in scope to adhere to their non-financial risks & control obligations both domestically and globally. In this role you will cooperate with all business lines and have a focus on Wholesale Banking Lending.

The opportunity

As a strategic partner for the first line risk owners, you drive the control & resilience calendar within the Wholesale Banking Lending domain. You partner with the business line and tribe leadership and risk experts, supported by the ING Hub, in helping business leaders be in control and focus on what matters. Wholesale Banking Lending is the backbone of our Wholesale Banking business. This department owns the Global Lending value chain which has been implemented consistently throughout the world. You would be the trusted partner both on the generic NFR obligations of the WB Lending department in NL and the Process Control Standard that helps to keep the Global Lending Value Chain safe and secure.

Your role and responsibilities

In your role as ODCR Business Partner for the WB Lending domain you :

  • Build a strong relationship with the (senior) managers within the WB Lending domain by showing business acumen and providing control & resilience solutions.
  • Act as a trusted partner to steer towards control & resilience quality.
  • Represent the voice of control & resilience in transformation programs and ensure that risk assessments etc. happen in a way that improves time-to-market.
  • Engage the Tribe Lending to have control & resilience by design in their processes.
  • Enable and engage (senior) managers for them to boost risk culture and own control & resilience conversations.
  • Ensure that the control & resilience requirements and needs are identified, discussed, and met in order to drive the business results.
  • Engage and enable managers on control & resilience requirements and what is needed to comply.
  • Enable your risk owner to perform all obligations that come with the ownership of the global PCS WB Lending.
  • Use data and reporting to shape the control & resilience calendar and drive the relevant control and resilience discussions in business meetings.
  • Apply the most appropriate control & resilience solution to ensure compliance with the (local) business process or activity.
  • Inform and educate risk experts and ING Hub on (changing) business needs, opportunities and concerns so they can amend solutions accordingly.
  • Liaise with relevant 2LoD and 3LoD colleagues for risk management questions and / or advise on risk mitigating activities.

Requirements

  • Master / Bachelor degree with up to 7-10 years relevant experience, in (Banking Industry) risk management or risk auditing.
  • In-depth knowledge of WB Lending products and processes.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Strong communication skills : written and oral.
  • Good knowledge of (and practical experience) in NFR Framework, monitoring and reporting.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Proven planning & organizational skills.
  • Driven and customer focused, loving to collaborate with different people.
  • You are a team player but are able to deliver individually in close cooperation with other ING colleagues.
