The production of corrugated cardboard and its processing into packaging is a very specific process. This process begins at our corrugated cardboard machine, where sheets of corrugated cardboard are made. These sheets are then processed into boxes in the Processing department by cutting, folding, printing, and punching them. All of this is done according to specific designs, qualities, and sizes that are unique for each customer.

As a Team Leader, you ensure the best team performance and act as the point of contact for the team. The main goal is to achieve maximum machine output in accordance with the schedule together with your team. Safety, quality, and expertise are the driving pillars. You ensure that your team can perform to their maximum potential.

You are responsible for the different parts of the production process. Additionally, you are alert to opportunities to optimize the process and come up with improvement proposals to produce the best cardboard and packaging. Work is carried out in a 3-shift service.

Other tasks within your responsibilities include :

  • Safety is our number one priority, always ensuring the physical and mental well-being of the production team;
  • Ensuring qualitative and quantitative operational availability and deployment of the production team;
  • Conducting appraisal and performance reviews, recruitment and selection interviews, and managing absenteeism guidance;
  • Coaching, motivating, and leading employees; ensuring compliance with occupational, environmental, and quality management systems, as well as other company and safety regulations;
  • Monitoring the quality of produced products according to specifications and quality assurance procedures;
  • Thorough handling and analysis of production complaints, taking preventive measures, and providing appropriate information and instructions to employees;
  • Monitoring, managing, and reporting on agreed KPIs, such as safety, quality, yield, efficiency, waste, and absenteeism;
  • Ensuring correct technical availability of machines and associated equipment and installations;
  • Making improvement proposals for the production process in terms of safety, quality, productivity, and manpower efficiency;
  • Ensuring a correct shift handover.

What are we looking for?

You thrive under healthy operational pressure in an ambitious organization. You are energized by ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and that objectives are met. You possess leadership qualities and have a hands-on mentality.

Additionally, you have :

  • Proven MBO 4 / HBO level of work and thinking;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a production environment;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate your team;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel); proficient in Dutch and English;
  • A team player with a high level of enthusiasm;
  • Flexible in terms of working hours;
  • Experience with reporting based on OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
