Cardano is looking for a new Data Architect / Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build out our sustainability offering. We are looking for a person to help architect and implement data pipelines to produce sustainability reports. This versatile role offers opportunity for varied exposure to investment and data with good career prospects.

Your role

As a Data Architect / Engineer, you will work alongside the engineering team to understand Cardano's practices and architecture. Initially, you will work embedded within a team of quantitative analysts and sustainability experts to enhance our data architecture and pipeline for producing sustainability reports. You will provide architectural guidance to the team, collaborating closely with our Engineering team on data structure and system design. Additionally, you will participate in coding and code reviews.

Responsibilities :

Collaborate with the Engineering team to understand Cardano's practices and architecture.
Work with quants and sustainability experts to improve the data pipeline for sustainability reports.
Provide guidance on data architecture and system design.
Engage in coding and code reviews.
Work closely with client teams or other business teams as needed.

We use Python and Airflow as well as our Hive data lake and other databases (i.e., SQL Server). Our reports are typically generated in PowerBI and accessed by clients through our digital platform.

Your qualifications

You have successfully completed a BSc or MSc in a financial, technological, mathematical, or scientific degree and have a strong analytical and quantitative foundation.

You are at the start of your career, but this is not your first experience.

You have experience with Python and a passion for developing new software.

You have an interest in designing data flows and systems that are robust.

You are passionate about design and architecture.

You have a great sense of responsibility and are very committed and quality oriented.

You have excellent communication skills.

You are looking for full-time employment (40-hour contract) in a hybrid working environment (minimum 2 days in the Rotterdam office per week, preferably 3 days).
