Dermatology

General Information :

Dermatology is a medical specialty focusing on the diagnostics and therapy of skin-related diseases and disorders. It is a dynamic and challenging discipline, in which patients from all age categories are seen.

Patients can have acute or chronic dermatoses. Students with an interest in the clinical and surgical aspects of the medical field can participate in several projects. The department has a few areas of expertise including :

• Blistering diseases
• Eczema
• Oncology / Surgery
• Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Within the department, there is a broad interest in contributing towards education, training, and scientific research.

Co-schappen

The clinical rotation (coschap) for dermatology takes place in M1 and has a duration of 5 weeks. The clinical rotation is part of the juco-schap Geneeskunde (contact person is Dr. Schuttelaar : [email protected]).
