Roll Group is seeking an experienced Global Head of Fleet (Marine) to oversee the safety, performance, and strategic direction of our maritime fleet. This senior leadership role offers the chance to make a significant impact within a dynamic and fast-growing company. Roll Group owns a versatile heavy transport seagoing fleet consisting of dock-type vessels, which all have the option of three loading modes - Ro-Ro, Flo-Flo and Lo-Lo, and deck carriers. On the land side Roll Group operates globally a large number of modern heavy lift cranes with capacity up to 4000Tonns, Self- Propelled Modular Trailers (SPMT’s) and Conventional Trailers. The specific characteristics of Roll Group’s asset base ensures the ability to serve a wide range of markets, such as : Oil & Gas and Renewable energies.

Position

As Global Head of Fleet (Marine), you will oversee the operational readiness, safety, and maintenance of Roll Group’s fleet. This role is critical to ensuring that our vessels and equipment meet operational requirements and adhere to regulatory standards. You will work closely with stakeholders to enhance fleet performance, champion technical innovation, and contribute to Roll Group’s global success.

Your responsibilities include :

  • Ensuring that all vessels are safe, reliable, and operationally ready.
  • Establishing and maintaining a planned maintenance program and supporting systems.
  • Reviewing and approving dry docking plans to secure cost-effective contracts.
  • Managing compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and ensuring up-to-date certifications.
  • Overseeing emissions reporting to meet sustainability and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing damage repairs, corrective maintenance, and financial settlements with insurance providers.
  • Conducting feasibility studies for asset acquisition, sale, hire, or lease.
  • Coordinating equipment relocations in alignment with operational needs.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to develop and implement innovative tools and solutions.
  • Leading fleet evaluations and maintaining high maintenance standards.
  • Supporting the team with technical expertise and conducting risk assessments.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in fleet or technical management within the maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, planned maintenance systems, and dry docking processes.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams in an international environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
