Our client is seeking an Area Sales Manager to join them at their Rotterdam office, where you will be working for an innovative leader in the maritime industry, driving growth and sustainable solutions for the shipping sector.

The Mission

  • Act as the primary sales advisor for assigned international distributors, offering expert advice and support to help them grow their sales and expand their market reach.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to increase turnover and market penetration within your assigned territory.
  • Provide business support regarding quotations, contracts, and agreements, ensuring smooth operations and strong client relationships.
  • Present products and solutions to both distributors and end-users, emphasizing value and unique selling points.
  • Stay informed about market trends and developments, leveraging insights to respond proactively and maximize opportunities.
  • Represent the company at international trade fairs and industry events, offering hands-on support to distributors.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of 4 sales professionals and report directly to the General Manager of Sales.
  • Travel approximately 6 days per month to meet with distributors and clients.

Your Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in the maritime sector, ideally in a sales or technical sales role.
  • Experience with navigation and communication equipment is a plus.
  • Affinity for technology and technical sales, with a strong ability to explain complex products to a wide audience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Maritime Officer (MAROF), Commercial Economy, International Management, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
  • Creative, passionate, and results-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
