Are you ready to drive quality and food safety for a cutting-edge food tech scale-up?
With this vacancy, our client offers you a unique opportunity to launch a revolutionary ingredient line. Their production plant has just become operational and was certified by FSSC. As they move from start-up to continuous production it’s your role to fully embed Quality Assurance practices into the operation and making sure they deliver the adhere to the highest standards, from raw material sourcing to packaging, to serve their customers.
Your responsibilities
- Own the Total Quality Management System : On a daily basis make sure the existing Food Safety Management System is being adhered toAct as the single point of contact for the operational team for all items related to food safety and qualityUpdate and improve the Management System to include product quality criteria on top of existing food safety criteriaMaintain the Corrective and Preventive action tracker for safety and ensure continuous improvement
- Support the operational team in troubleshooting and root-causing any quality alerts and quality incidents
- Support the operational team with basic analytical tests
- Own the finished product quality release system, including : Be the single point of contact for the external analytics labsBe the single point of contact for the sales, applications & R&D Teams regarding product qualityBe the single point of contact for the feedstock supplier and external co-packer and logistics
- Answering Supplier Qualification Questionnaires for our customers and organizing customer audits
- Be a key member of the production team, contributing to production and supply chain targets
- Serve as the voice of the quality, driving a “quality first” and continuous improvement culture and taking ownership for improvement projects

Job requirements

Ideally, we are looking for food enthousiasts that match all the criteria below. We are however also very interested in candidates that partially match the criteria but are confident to master the other within a short time. For now, the vacancy is open for both freelance and wage workers that are available on very short notice for a temporary assignment starting as soon as possible and ending around the end of November. However, do not hesitate to apply if you are interested in joining the company on a permanent basis and / or have a notice period in your current contract. The organisation expects this position to become permanent in the near future.
Your profile
- 5+ years of experience in a food production environment, with minimum 2 years in a quality assurance role, such as QA officer, 'kwaliteitsmedewerker', Quality Manager of alike
- Experience in working with FSSC 22000
- Knowledge of basic lab and analytical methods
- Creative problem-solver with a pragmatic approach to business challenges
- Collaborative spirit across the company (startup mentality) with a curiosity to the product and the new possibilities it can bring to the market
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably Dutch
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft office tools
- Relevant certifications in Food Safety and Quality are a plus
Offer
- A salary between €3000 and €3800 gross or, for freelancers, an hourly rate between €60 and €100
