For our client, a company in the technical branch , we are looking for Data Center Technician for a client based in Eemshaven .

You will perform core data center operations and deployment tasks on a single function (e.g., maintenance, machines, programs, networking, media security) with day-to-day guidance. You perform basic troubleshooting and problem identification to address routine issues by following prescribed procedures. You impact the work group via personal accuracy, timeliness, and turning in quality work. as you are new to the profession, you are starting to ask questions around data center operations, processes, and procedures in order to learn the technical skill set required to progress in your role. You also engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations - making the data center a better place to work.

Furthermore performing prescriptive, basic, and repetitive data center operations and deployment tasks for at least one function (e.g., maintenance, machines, programs, networking, media security), within a team setting. Execute a combination of prescriptive and / or repetitive non-technical processes and procedures (e.g., repairs work) inside of at least a single project or relevant skill domain, according to established and documented procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure after initial infrastructure creation.
  • Execute operational procedures as part of daily work activities and follow security policies and processes.
  • Create and implement new processes to increase data center efficiency and document and hold learning sessions to ensure others learn new processes and ensure alignment with data security policies and processes.
  • Communicate with software engineers to resolve issues with data center software and escalate issues as needed.
  • Report issues and follow data center procedures, troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
  • Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues.
  • Disassemble specific equipment that has reached its end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance.
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and other compliance programs and initiatives in collaboration with other teams (e.g., EHS, Data Center Services), to ensure that environmental and safety incidents are properly investigated, resolved, and reported.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of data and track various forms of media to check for any data security issues (e.g., data was not properly erased) handled in accordance with Google security standards.

    • Requirements

  • Knowledge of data security systems and all lifecycle stages, as well as the ability to monitor for, and control potential data security issues.
  • Knowledge of computer networking (e.g., TCP / IP, HTTP, DNS).
  • Knowledge of machine components, failure modes, troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with platforms, configurations, and physical processes.
  • Knowledge of physical networking (e.g., fiber, cables, routers, switches, optical networking) components.
  • Speak and write English reasonably well.
