We are looking for an AWS Lead Cloud Engineer for our client in the Eindhoven area.

Location : Eindhoven area / remote

Start date : a.s.a.p.

Period : 6 months (with option to extend)

Contract hours : 40

Project description

Our client is leading a cloud program for one of its customers. The team responsible for this task works closely together with application teams and supports them to onboard and industrialize their application on the AWS cloud (co-development). As a part of their cloud platform & enablement team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of their technical landscape.

You will be part of the team tasked with driving innovation in the cloud. As Lead Engineer you will guide the team from a technical point of view and make sure (new) cloud best practices are implemented and managed efficiently.

Activities

  • Design and build new cloud platform functionality e.g., new Landing Zone, DevSecOps, SD-WAN, and WAN.
  • Co-develop AWS cloud solutions e.g., containers together with application teams on top of the cloud platform.
  • You will create detailed low-level designs and provide technical direction on various topics.
  • Guiding and supporting other engineers within the team will be a key aspect of your role. Advise teams on cloud approach (apply monitoring, alerting, reporting and cost control standards).
  • Develop cloud native products (e.g., development playground) on AWS.
  • The consultant reports to the product owner and works in close harmony with the platform and enablement team and several teams of the customer.

Competence

  • HBO level or WO level, preferable IT education.
  • Minimal 4-5 years of relevant cloud work experience.
  • Experience with cloud automation : CI / CD pipelines; automation, AWS automation.
  • Experience with Cloud Security : IAM, service principles, permissions, policies.
  • Experience with cloud / Azure PaaS services (Data & Analytics, Databases, IoT / Manufacturing).
  • Experience with Agile / DevOps WoW and international teams.
  • Pre : CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CloudFormation, CDK, Python, Typescript, Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, IAM, S3, SNS, Security Hub, Systems Manager, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Deployment Framework.
  • Good documenting and reporting capabilities.

To achieve the project goals, the candidate needs to have a clear focus on results and sticking to programming / IT quality standards while being under stressful (business critical) conditions.
