GL accountant

The General Ledger Accountant plays a key role in managing financial transactions and ensuring accurate account coding and classification. This position supports the preparation of monthly financial statements and assists in the year-end close process. Additional tasks include maintaining compliance with accounting policies and providing support during audits and tax activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Record and document day-to-day financial transactions
  • Reconcile and maintain accuracy in balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure precise coding and classification of all financial transactions
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Generate various financial reports for management review
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements
  • Verify, allocate, and post transactions to the general ledger
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and accounts
  • Ensure strict adherence to accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist in the implementation of internal controls to maintain compliance
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
  • Provide necessary support for audits and tax-related activities
  • Reconcile work in progress to ensure accurate financial representation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Ledger Clerk or in a similar role
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and reconciliation
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Unit4, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in English , with strong abilities in written and spoken communication. Dutch is a plus.
