Join us as a Process Engineer Manufacturing, based in Waalwijk, to provide and manage the technical supports for the operations in the manufacturing. You will support the production setup, change, modify in electrical and mechanical aspects. In addition, you will coordinate and guide line technicians to complete first line support, and will coordinate technically with the suppliers and customers.
How you will contribute
- Support Operations team, both on-site and (inter)nationally, to meet engineering goals and objectives that deliver results in line with the business plan, support in shifts if a project required.
- Provide technical (electrical / mechanical / systematic) support for multi-functional production / assembly lines. Work closely with (international) vendors to deliver on-site solutions.
- Evaluate and provide preventative and corrective actions for production downtime.
- Support NPI and internal / external projects in the whole Engineering life cycle.
- Develop and update existing headcount analysis tools (direct and indirect labor) to analyze the impact of changes on business and prepare summary reports for and in support of Operations, IT, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Sustain, develop and configure our processes, using common improvement tools (see requirements), techniques and experience, to increase production rates and quality of output. Manage the engineering function for assigned projects and activities including engineering budget, processes, equipment, work standards, and facilities. Measure standard time (MTM) to proactively challenge and support the realization of reductions in standard time, while always striving to eliminate waste.
- Prepare engineering studies to ensure that continuously changing operational processes are reflected in operational and strategic calculations. Present solutions and commercial models as part of the business development process.
- Build and maintain relationships with various DP World customers, DP World stakeholders, and contractors from an engineering perspective. Work closely with Operations, Account Management, Facilities, and Project Management teams to develop and implement solutions to meet the requirements of the business.
- Make informed recommendations and decisions related to the purchase or lease of capital equipment including process equipment, forklifts, tooling, lift assists, generators, compressed air systems, racking, scrubbers, compactors, and miscellaneous items pertaining to specific projects.
- Other Engineering related tasks in a wider Engineering / Facility team.
Your key qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably with a technical background, in Logistics, Process, Industrial, Manufacturing; with a very strong background in engineering solutions, redesigns and cost savings initiatives3-5 years' of relevant experienceExperience within the manufacturing / logistics / warehousing environmentExperience in (re)manufacturing, packaging, and / or innovation of line production environmentHave proven process improvement experience and skills utilizing common improvement tools – Lean Six Sigma, 5S Visual factory, Waste, MTM / MOST and time studies, TPM, VSMPeople management skills, taking care of our people is one of our goalsFlexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities (in the project)Can work alone under pressure and in a team as wellDemonstrated ability in relevant computer skills such as MS Office, Visio, AutoCAD, MiniTab, Project management toolsLI-AD1
