Department

The Global Procurement & Third Party Management department within Robeco plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Robeco. The objective of the department is to support the Robeco organization in procuring high quality products and services and maintaining operational resilience in a regulated environment.

In this context, the Procurement department is responsible for overseeing and managing relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring that they comply with relevant regulations and internal policies. This includes conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring vendor performance, risk, and resilience.

Position & Requirements

Category Buyer Indirect spend in the category “General Services”. Your main priority will be to procure marketing & sales, HR, facilities and professional services related goods and services.

You will work closely with the Category & Third Party Managers within General services and the Operational Procurement Support team in order to achieve an optimal purchasing process within the category.

  • Procurement : You can set your own priorities and you already have sufficient knowledge and purchasing experience to operate independently and autonomously for low risk purchases. Additionally, have a good understanding of the market and be able to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Collaboration ; you are able to work in a team and contribute to process improvements to achieve common objectives. Effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Facilities, Human Resources and Corporate services.
  • Performance monitoring You coordinate the procurement process (the total order process) with internal stakeholders; this often concerns the purchase of goods, services, Identifying and developing “new” preferred suppliers. You have an understanding of the procurement process, being able to effectively manage vendors, and having the ability to analyze and negotiate contracts.
  • Regulatory compliance : knowledgeable about relevant regulations and industry standards related to third-party management, and be able to ensure strict adherence and compliance across all vendor relationships.

You will become part of a team of 13 Category & Third Party Managers and 5 Operational Procurement Support professionals, and will report into the Senior Manager Category & Third Party Risk Management.

The ideal candidate should be positive, accurate, and flexible, with an analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude and is a skilled and experienced professional with a background in procurement. HBO working and thinking level preferably supplemented with Nevi 1 or 2 (or similar purchasing training). Demonstrable and recent work experience as a Procurement professional (minimum 3 years).

Proficient in both Dutch and English (written and spoken). Hands-on experience in monitoring of vendors, and vendor performance monitoring, as well as experience with (P2P) procurement processes or Workday as a procurement system is preferred.

The candidate should have a 'can do' mentality, a proactive approach, and be eager to contribute to the organization's success. They should be able to work effectively in a small team where knowledge sharing and collaboration are very important.
