We are currently working with a number of prestigious infrastructure clients looking for experienced procurement and commercial professionals in support of their major projects.

Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lead to join our team on-site in Eemshaven, Groningen. This is a unique opportunity to work with a global construction consultancy on a €900m+ hyperscale data centre project for one of the world’s leading hyperscalers. The project involves the implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies. This role requires a candidate with substantial experience in large-scale hyperscale projects, particularly in the data centre sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Leadership : Lead and manage the commercial team on-site, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Client Engagement : Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the project.
  • Contract Management : Robustly defend claims downstream and manage change, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and accurately reported.
  • Strategic Thinking : Provide strategic oversight and hands-on management of commercial activities, ensuring the project’s financial health and long-term success.
  • Team Culture : Foster a positive, can-do attitude within the team, promoting collaboration and a high-performance culture.
  • Account Management : Take on key account management responsibilities, with potential for significant growth opportunities across the EMEA region.

Preferred Qualifications / Relevant Experience

  • Right to Work : Must have the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
  • Data Centre Expertise : Extensive experience in large-scale hyperscale data centre projects is essential.
  • Leadership Experience : Proven track record of leading commercial teams on complex construction projects.
  • Client-Facing Skills : Comfortable engaging with business leaders and stakeholders, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Contract Management : Demonstrable experience in managing contracts, defending claims, and reporting on change.
  • Strategic & Hands-On : Ability to think strategically while being hands-on with project execution.
  • Attitude : No egos – we seek a team player with a positive outlook who is committed to fostering teamwork and a high-performance culture.

  • On-Site Requirement : Full-time on-site presence in Eemshaven, Groningen.
  • Flexible Rotation : Option for a 10-on / 4-off rotation.
