Your role

We are looking for an IT Field Support Engineer who is responsible for providing on-site technical support and maintenance for hardware, software, and networking issues across multiple locations. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and repairing IT equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of systems. The IT Field Support Engineer acts as a liaison between the IT department and end-users, delivering hands-on solutions to technical problems. The location could be retail shops and office locations.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users on-site, addressing their IT-related queries and concerns.
  • Travel to various client or company locations to provide on-site technical assistance.
  • Train end-users on proper use and maintenance of IT equipment and software applications.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and guides for common IT tasks and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and hardware components.
  • Perform regular maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct hardware repairs and replacements, including hard drives, memory modules, and other components.
  • Ensure timely and efficient resolution of technical problems to minimize system downtime.
  • Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests using the company’s ticketing system.
  • Analyze recurring issues and provide recommendations for long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT support or as a field engineer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and communication skills, with a preference for independent work.
  • Experience in Windows, Macintosh OS X, laptop support, end-user tools, incident management, and IT service management.
  • Good communication skills in English and Dutch.
