Our Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) department is currently looking for an Associate Researcher Oligonucleotide Chemistry (Full-time) to join our team.

We are looking for candidates with a passion for working in a chemical laboratory; this role would suit a recent graduate with a background in chemistry or related disciplines. The CMC department has a central role within the ProQR Therapeutics organization, developing, manufacturing, and characterizing oligonucleotides and therapeutic formulations for research, clinical development, and commercialization.

The Role

The Associate Researcher will support the in-house lab activities of the Drug Substance & Chemistry team, which is part of the CMC department. The successful candidate will work closely with other researchers / scientists in an interdisciplinary team environment to help with all activities related to the production of oligonucleotides, which includes :

  • Manufacturing of oligonucleotides by performing all stages of the process, such as synthesis, cleavage & deprotection, and purification.
  • Proper documentation and accurate record keeping of experimental data.
  • Execution of analytical tests (HPLC, UV-Vis, and mass spectrometry).
  • Support preparation of technical protocols and reports.
  • Preparation or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support general lab activities such as equipment maintenance and inventory management.

We expect our Associate Researcher to have :

  • An MLO or HLO degree in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline with up to 2 years of industry experience.
  • Strong laboratory skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of, and hands-on experience with, analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • A responsible person with a proactive attitude who can work independently.
  • Flexibility, analytical skills, and well-organized.
  • A team player.
  • We would like our Associate Researcher to have :

  • Knowledge of oligonucleotide (or peptide) manufacturing (synthesis, purification, and / or analysis) is a plus.
  • Enjoy challenging situations and have the flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
