About Next Ocean

Next Ocean is the pioneering developer of Vessel Motion Radar technology. We develop software that turns any marine radar into a powerful remote wave sensor that scans the surrounding sea and predicts how the observed waves will propagate and warns for big waves and resulting extreme ship motions. Our systems empower crews at sea to anticipate dangerous motions up to four minutes in advance - day and night.

One of our missions is to boost the transition towards sustainable energy by making all operations involved with installation and maintenance of offshore wind farms safer and more efficient. With the product gaining traction, and the rapid expansion of our client base, we are looking for talented, motivated, and passionate software engineers to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Full stack Software Engineer with a primary focus on back-end development and cloud infrastructure . External contributors will assist with front-end UI development, and you will oversee and integrate their work to deliver cohesive solutions.

Key Responsibility

Develop and manage the UI application of Next Ocean and architect and expand the initial prototype of our cloud application to monitor the fleet of ships we service; eventually evolving it into our client portal.

What are we looking for?

Experience with back-end development (e.g., Node.js, Python) and familiarity with front-end development tools (e.g. React, Angular or Vue).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS).
Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
