THE ROLE
As our Production Manager, you'll be a key player in orchestrating the manufacturing of our DAC units. We work with contract manufacturers (CMOs) located across the globe, in countries like Estonia, Finland, Poland, the United States, and Malaysia. Your challenge? To ensure the smooth and efficient production of these complex systems, meeting our ambitious production targets while maintaining the highest quality standards.
This role demands a unique blend of strategic thinking, hands-on management, and international collaboration. You'll be responsible for :
Crafting and implementing winning strategies : You'll develop and execute comprehensive plans for logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring a seamless flow of materials and finished goods across continents.
Driving on-time delivery : Meeting our production schedule is paramount. You'll be the maestro of our manufacturing operations, ensuring timely delivery of our DAC units to customers worldwide.
Building strong partnerships : You'll cultivate strong relationships with our CMOs and vendors, acting as a trusted partner and fostering collaboration across continents and cultures.
Leading and inspiring a global team : You'll be responsible for hiring and managing a talented team of Production Support Engineers based at our CMO locations, as well as a team of regional logistics and inventory planning specialists. Your leadership will be key to their success.
Championing quality and efficiency : You'll be a relentless advocate for quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You'll drive initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and enhance the overall performance of our manufacturing operations.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Managing all day-to-day contracts with our CMO partners and key suppliers, from strategy to realization;
Visiting and auditing our CMOs and suppliers globally;
Overseeing the supply chain from vendors, and managing through to CMOs to distribution to customers according to our Master Production Schedule (MPS);
Managing inventory of key components and materials according to our Materials Requirements Plan (MRP);
Managing relationships with logistical service providers, warehousing and 3PLs;
Automating all relevant production and inventory data flow processes and ensuring proper audit trails and forward / backward traceability within our global ERP system (MS Dynamics 365 F&O);
Devising a strategy and implementing required data flows between Skytree and the CMOs and 3PLs and service providers, to ensure effective operations;
Supporting the ongoing activities of the company related to ISO certifications.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste at CMO locations. This could involve value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma initiatives.
Track and analyze production yields at each CMO, identifying areas for improvement and working with the Production Support Engineers to implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with Sales Operations to develop and maintain a robust production plan that meets customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and production costs.
Monitor CMO capacity and proactively identify potential bottlenecks or constraints. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure production continuity.
Analyze production costs at each CMO, identifying areas for cost reduction and working with the CMOs to implement cost-saving measures.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance, quality, cost, and delivery. Regularly report on performance to management.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with CMOs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
5+ years hands on experience in production at international companies with high-tech products and categories of mechanical hardware and electronic components or in industries with complex manufacturing processes, such as semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or aerospace;
Experience with leading cross functional teams at NPI, Ramp-Up, Life Cycle Management and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, product and procurement teams;
Master’s or Bachelor’s (HBO) degree education (Engineering / Business Economics / Logistics / SCM or a related field such as Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering);
Track record of successfully managing CMO performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost
Familiarity with import / export regulations, international shipping, and customs procedures
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or APICS are highly desirable;
Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
