Job Title : Finance Intern

Location : Aalsmeer, Netherlands

Department : Finance & Accounts

Reports to : International Controller

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team at Hail & Cotton, Aalsmeer office. As a Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects related to business control and accounting, alongside supporting our Finance & Accounts team for the international division. This internship is ideal for students eager to develop practical skills in financial operations and build experience working within an international team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance & Accounts team at Aalsmeer with daily tasks and projects.
  • Post bank transactions in accounting software.
  • Assist the accounting team with processing of local bank account reconciliation.
  • Provide day-to-day support for our accounts payable process in Blue10.
  • Assist with the AP / AR process, including coding and booking invoices according to assigned cost centers.
  • Become familiar with General Ledger accounting processes.
  • Help with the reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Filing of hard- and softcopy documents.
  • Assist with preparation of accounting package templates for subsidiaries.
  • Support the team with preparing VAT filing reports.

What are we looking for (and what we can help you develop) :

  • Enrolled in an accredited (Dutch) college or University for the entire duration of Internship.
  • Specialization in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant subjects.
  • Exposure to various aspects of Finance and accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Fluent in English (verbal, written and spoken).
  • Currently living in Netherlands, preferably close to Aalsmeer.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze and present information to team members.
  • Available for 32-40 hours per week for a period of 5-6 months, beginning Feb 2025.
