About the team

You will be part of the Digital Compliance Team of Sanoma Learning. It’s a new team within Sanoma Learning that’s currently being build. This year, the team will consist of 2 privacy officers and 2 security officers. The team provides support on privacy and security throughout the whole Sanoma Learning company, privacy in technology is an important and substantial part of the job.

The privacy officer will be responsible for supporting the business in the region Belgium / the Netherlands and next to that for one product engineering center, based on the Sanoma Learning privacy guidelines and standards.

The privacy officer will be a sparring partner for the other privacy officers and actively shares knowledge on the different privacy topics.

Key job responsibilities

• Support the business with the implementation of the Sanoma Learning privacy guidelines and standards and create additional guidelines and local privacy policy within the Sanoma Learning privacy framework.
• Contribute to the preparation of the Sanoma privacy program.
• Advising on and cooperating on ad hoc information requests about privacy, raising privacy awareness and training privacy knowledge within the organization and training new employees on the privacy policy.
• Solicited and unsolicited advice on privacy protection and privacy compliance to the management team of the BeNe region and product managers of the product engineering centers.
• Chairman and initiator of the – to be established, maintained, improved – (internal) privacy support teams of the BeNe region.
• Lead / part of the data breach task forces and responsible for the correct registration, communication, and handling of incidents / data breaches.
• Assess PIAs and advise on appropriate technical and organizational measures.
• Advising on data processing agreements.
• Monitors standards of, for example, the MEVW, VDOD, Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and others.
• Participates in educational chain consultations regarding privacy in the BeNe region.
• Coordinating and managing the processing register and supporting the line in completing it.
• Dealing with internal and external complaints about the use of personal data.
