ENG Bauen has been entrusted to lead the search for a Head of Mechanical Engineering , a pivotal and strategic appointment that will shape and deliver the mechanical discipline and broader project delivery strategy for large-scale capital projects in the European and global project portfolio across their selected project regions.

This is a defining opportunity for an experienced engineering leader with a background in EPC project environments and deep technical expertise in rotating and static equipment. You will build and lead a high-performing mechanical team, manage engineering interfaces, and set the technical strategy for major project execution phases, including FEED, detailed design, procurement, and construction support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across the mechanical engineering function for major capital projects
• Organize and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams; serve as Technical Lead or Technical Project Manager for FEL studies and large-scale project execution
• Develop high-quality mechanical deliverables and oversee the work of others, reviewing and approving from conceptual design through detailed engineering
• Approve key technical decisions across the mechanical engineering discipline, ensuring alignment with internal standards, client requirements, and global codes
• Coordinate mechanical workstreams across multiple projects or technologies for a given client
• Lead vendor evaluation and qualification, manage vendor relationships, and ensure high standards during the equipment supply phase
• Monitor team performance in terms of cost, schedule, and engineering hours; support the development of junior staff
• Contribute to proposal development and lead technical due diligence when needed
• Act as a key interface with clients and internal stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable project steps
